New York City Department of Transportation x Myrtle Avenue Business Improvement District: Ridgewood Queens, 2026
I was commissioned by NYC DOT x Myrtle Avenue BID to design and execute four asphalt murals along Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood, Queens. This project marks Ridgewood’s first asphalt mural commission. These murals were painted within NYC DOT’s pedestrian bump-outs, a traffic-calming design that shortens crossing distances, slows turning vehicles, and improves visibility at busy intersections and blind corners, while preventing illegal parking in pedestrian designated spaces.
4 asphalt murals, 1,700 sq ft, 5 days. Photography taken by Kristen Chen.
