New York City based artist, Sophia Livecchi, strives to find projects that fall at the intersection of public art and social justice work. Earning an Environmental Studies degree from Skidmore College, Sophia found ways to combine her love for the environment with her passion for art through mural making. Shortly after completing her first mural for Scattered Kind, Sophia founded SophLive Designs LLC in 2021 where she has completed various murals across the tri-state area, sold her work at local art markets throughout New York City, and has had her work exhibited in the Lockwood Mathews Mansion Museum and the Schick Gallery. Most recently, Sophia was commissioned by the New York City Department of Transportation to paint four asphalt murals in Ridgewood, Queens to support pedestrian and public safety. 

Sophia has served as the Manager of Community Relations at Publicolor for over three years, where she leads students, corporate volunteers, and community members in the design transformation of public spaces and schools across New York City’s five boroughs. Through both Sophia’s own work and with Publicolor, these professional experiences deeply inform her art practice and reinforce Sophia’s belief that creativity is the backbone for connection, pride, and care for shared spaces in communities. In the fall of 2026, Sophia will begin her Masters of Science in Urban Placemaking and Management at Pratt Institute to further pursue her career in placemaking, community engagement, and urban design through public art.
